Barbara Schrefer is a transplanted English woman now living in Clearwater, Fl.  She was born in Lancashire, England in the 1930s and has memories of a World War II childhood.  In her twenties she lived in London and Paris.

In the early sixties she came to America, and has lived in San Francisco and New York. For a chapter of her novel Marlene she received the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award in Fiction, and won first prize in the Florida State Writing Competition, novel category.

Her short story THE SEA CHANGE was published in THE LITERARY REVIEW.
